95neon_thumper82 Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 OK time for a few pics and videos..... first off a thickness comparison.... it's a cutting of the mojomat that i had left over... im going to keep it for future reference that's a dollar, a quarter, and a nickle. A heatgun definitely came in handy... though I started using it kinda late in the install. but what ever Here's the initial pre install video (again!) pics: first I cleaned everything up.... used alcohol and a few old t-shirts... Then I did the out skin not a WHOLE lot but what I could through those particular holes... this was shot before i had it all in... I said oh shit BETTER TAKE PICS! lol I cut the inner skin slab i was going to use in two parts.... to make it easier to handle but still be able to stay clean looking.... this is the second corner like this I did went a little upholsterer style on it This is the first corne I did... it didn't come out too bad I used my knife to clean up the bunches.... but i learned and used what I learned on the next corner heres what that panel came out looking like... honestly the most difficult because it was like upside down but it still came out the best! here's the rest of the decklid done! Now it's NOT the way I wanted it and it kinda pissed me off.... but when I noticed it, it was kind of too late... I wanted the two points to meet and be even... but the guides that I was using.... weren't as true as I thought.... again something learned! the bigger triangles on the inner part of the decklid were all I had when I shot this video.... the smaller triangles like on the outter part of the cables there came afterwards when I got home. I said crap i don't even have two full sheets up there... better use some more so that's what I did. here's the look of the entire trunk when its open... I don't think I'm done with the decklid yet though.... i may throw the rest of it on there too... but for now! IT'S a HELL of alot better... It has a nice solid THUD! when you close it.... it does come up quite as well as it used to so you know there is some weight there...oh and i got that lil dent taken care of hahaha... Oh and that broken tail light? yeah I pissed off a fellow employee at work and the passive aggressive FUCK took it out on my car! I caught him outside of work...
