TITUS1985
I have an Audison Voce 5.1k and it keeps going into thermal protect mode. I've tried resetting the gains multiple times and also just recently tried setting the gains lower and not playing the music very loud just to see if it will stay cool; and all of these didn't help. I have 2 12" hertz subs wired to 2 ohm and on the A and B channels I have Hertz components; wired passive on both. I don't know what else to do other than sell it and go the good old standard route of having two amps. I just really didn't want to have to do that in the first place... Any help at all is greatly appreciated (I really don't want to ruin a 1500 dollar amp) Thanks, Nick

TITUS1985
um i hope I did it correctly I used my multimeter and set it to ohms and at the amplifier it was reading anywhere from 1.6 - 2.2 ohms
justin0943
whats the model of the subs are they dual or single if its dual 2 ohm then that right each coils should read between 1.7-2.2ohm but if it dual 4ohm then the subs are bad. 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/
TITUS1985
The subs are single 4 ohm and I have them wired down to a 2 ohm load on the amp ... It's been really hot where I live (95+ everyday) and I believe that's part of it as well because my amp is in the trunk with not much fresh airflow. So I'm thinking of somewhere else to put it so it can stay cooler.
justin0943
could be but when you measure the sub do each sub to make sure their reading 3.8-4.2ohm each 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/

Lifted2000Ford4x4
where do you have the amp? under something? or out in the open... i would suspect something to be wrong with it if it were out in the open and over heating, but if its somewhere that it doesn't get air flow then it would point to the space its in getting to hot. TITUS1985
I've got the amp on top of my box (I know it's not the best place but when you have 2 12's everywhere shakes) anyway the sides of the amp all have great breathing room the top of the amp is about 1 1/2 inches away from the trunk lid and the bottom is raised off the box about 1/2 an inch. It's also been 95+ degrees everyday and I can't even imagine how hot the trunk gets. I want to move my amp to the back of the seat to see if that will help I just don't have the resources to do it myself and I'm not going to pay a local shop to do something I know I can easily do if I had the correct tools.
