I have a kicker l7 15 inch and I have a Rockford p300-2 wired to it. Ive only got one side of the kicker hooked up bridged to my amp. I was playing to for around 30 mins pounding away and went to touch my amp and it was really hot. I got told that I have to wire it 4ohms bridged but dont know how. I have a positive/ negative on both sides of my box. Thanks

Ohhh right ok, I think it's a dvc and Ive got the gain turned right up on the amp. It does sound good. What amp would you recommend me to get.

Right well I don't know how to tell if it's a dv4 or dcv2, and I would love to get that kicker amp but it's only available in America. I live in the uk and its hard to get hold of decent amps

Right ok, I've just changed the wiring so the amps not bridged and usin both positive/ negative on the sub. Don't sound as good but I don't want to damage my speaker

Right ok thanks for all your help so far, think I need to find out what dvc my sub is. I think it's a d4 but want to be certain. I would like to get a Rockford but they are very expensive. So I need to look for an alternative.

Yea it's in a prefab box, i do have plans on making my own box. You have helped me out a lot, I didn't know about the low pass and high pass. I will need to save up some money first then start buying. Thanks again mate. Much appreciated

I had a look at the sub and it says Kicker Solobaric Sl715 2 then the ohms sign. This was on one side as I had a tourch and looked into the port. I have then been doing some reaserch and to wire it up to 4 ohms bridged I can link one side of the pos/neg together and the other side straight to the amp. Not sure if this is correct.

I've connected both sides to my amp so both channels are running and it sounds alright. Not overheating but haven't tested it on a long journey
