Swordlordboy1234 Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Normally I charge at 14.5 hot, and 14.7 cold. But recently here in Texas summer (my first one) my alternator is charging at 14.5 start and its not charging amazingly. Ill get 14.2 at the with the system off... And when I'm playing with a fully charged battery, ill drop to 12.8 (not the 12.0 from a couple days ago, uncharged batteries) but it takes a lot longer then normal to get back up to full voltage. Like almost 40 seconds, instead of normally 15 seconds. Is this just summer / heat being a bitch? Guest DC Power Kyle Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Normal. When it's hot outside there is a larger amount of temperature compensation. Depending on what vehicle make you have there are different set points.
