MonkeyMan
I haven't actually been able to find any specs as to what voltage the alternator is meant to do... :/
SnowDrifter
Usually 14.6ish iirc What's your pulley size and idle speed? And what size alt did you get? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
MonkeyMan
14.6v hot, or cold? 320amp universal. crank is ~6.5inch, although idle is lower, at about 600rpm.
MonkeyMan
Did a test, ~200amp load on the battery and alternator, dropped to 11.6volts on a 3 second burp :/ well, I guess when the alt is only doing 80amps, it won't help much. Could just be that the revs aren't high enough.... I've ordered a shorter belt, see what happens I guess. edit: it idles too low to get any decent current at idle, I tested again at 2000rpm, and got 280amps at 13.8volts (the entire amplifier and cars current draw I'd say) but to me, this suggest the belt can't be slipping much, if at all :/
