LSN2meBoom916
This one http://www.compositescanada.com/product.php?idProduct=122 The fillers you linked are way off for what you're trying to do. You want a finishing/body filler not filler to add to resin to thicken it which is what you have linked^^ in ur last link. All that stuff is (dry) powder or (dry) chopped mat that you add to resin to thicken it into more of a paste, but you want somethign that will sand easier than that. strike that.... here https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-10290-12...WID=22410817522 https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/c-499-body-fillers.aspx http://www.evercoat.com/productDetail.aspx?pID=146 Edited February 26, 2008 by LSN2meBoom916 COOGLE SAID:"bro thats how we got where we are... buy making messes ...... i still learn all the time you just gota be willing to ruck up some shit" "In order to attain the impossible, one must attempt the absurd." ~ Miguel de Unamuno"One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men, but no machine can do the work of one extraordinary man" -Elbert Hubbard"A proud man can learn humility...but he will be proud of that too" ~I forget who.I'm far from perfect and I know it better than anyone, but I hope to be good at what I do, when I do it...Installs I've done:My Integra: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=3161The Lexus : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=1535Law's Maxima: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...ic=5568&hl=Jeff's 2500HD: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...ic=5382&hl=Acura RSX-S: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=3142Z-32 300zx: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=34602004 Civic 4dr: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=8190Trunk/Corner Box: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...c=16036&hl=1969 Chevy C-10: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...c=20319&hl=Seat-Back AMP-RACK How-to: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...ic=9428&hl=Bunch of subs still for salehttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...l=lsn2meboom916"It's game night...we're playin......sex."~Quagmire"When disneyland started it was powered completely by orphan children running on treadmills to generate e-lectrissty…and today, them children are New York Yankees". ~Dale Gribble"Fill it with ice...then pour it up to the top of the ice...& Shut da Fu** up!" ~Urs truly. EpicenterDesigns
My suggestions.......order from U S Composits. If your ordering from US Composits (good choice BTW), order polyester resin. Now I would suggest getting the General Purpose resin for the price if you think some might be getting wasted in the learning curve. Get the b440 resin if your confident. It wets out much better and has a good consistancy to it. As for the mat, I suggest getting the 1.5oz. I prefer ordering the mat tape rolls. It is not sticky like the name tape implies, but in a roll. It comes in different widths. 6" width about 80 yards is really easy to work with and is the best buy per yard to weight. If you feel you willl need more, then you know what to get and what works for you. Better than over ordering and getting alot of stuff you may not be using. Hope this helps you out. And fiberglassforums is a great place to learn techniques and tips. Be sure to check out ALL the stickies. There are some on what fabrics work best for framing and others on tips to properly get the mat laid down. LOTS of info. If you can get the Evercoat brand easier, get the regular polyester resin and stay away from the SMC. I don't know if this was for me or the other guy^^^^ But I did find out where I can get EverCoat Products in Ontario Canada again so Im happy about that So Just get the regular Polyester Resin (Non-waxed)or Waxed or just get a tin of wax for when I have to do maybe 2 layers right. Can't remember why I was using wax in my resin in the first place someone told me to so I have ever since. To Fillers Should I just Buy Rage Gold or should rage extreme be the better choice also they do sell Dura-glass right been a while since I've glassed before Moving where the Money Trees are
