trebreeden2146 Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Im new to this group, actually just signed up like 10 mins ago lol but im thinking about ordering 4 Sa-15s and 2 Saz -2500d , i saw a video on youtube and some guy had 2 Sa- 15s and a saz- 2500d at 1/2 ohm just wondering should i go with the 2 ohm or 4 ohm models of the sa 15s? I want to have both amps running at .5 ohms
bkolfo4 Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Dual 2, but if you have to ask, I would guess you might consider just running those amps at 1 ohm. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
trebreeden2146 Posted August 22, 2013 Author Report Posted August 22, 2013 Should i run them at 1 ohm ? I was think .5 ohm from what ive saw on youtube! I really liked his set up
JesseyMclame Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 Well you have to account for box rise as well. So I'm sure if you wired them to a nominal load of .5, after box rise, It will probably be at 1 ohm or a little higher. Depending on the box, of course. Make sure you have the proper electrical for all of that, that's a lot of power you're gonna be running. Current setup in my 96 Hoe Hu - Pioneer DEH-80prs. Amps - (4) Crossfire C5 1700D's, MTX Thunder 5604(mids), PPI Art 300.2 (tweets) Batts - 4 91ah rear batts, 50ah batt up front. Subs - 2 Crossfire XSv2 18's Alt - Singer 330A Front stage - Random JL & Eclipse mids, Eclipse tweets
