Did you install it yourself?It was installed when I got the car from a dealership, I had the remote wire hooked up to the right place and it worked on my first system I had for 6 months and worked for my current system for 2 months and just stopped working but thing is the head unit still powers on and plays on the regular car speakers

You could also try to put your friends amp in your car to see if it turns on in there. I doubt it will from the sounds of things. Get a good DMM. Not one from the .99 store.
