petrulak1993 Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 I'm going to purchase a HO alternator through excessive amperage for my 2012 Ford Fiesta S. I've bought 0 gauge wire to go from my alternator to my battery and grounds. My question is the charging wire that comes from the alternator connects to a fuse block on my battery. The block has two other wires on it. (Red-AC) (Black-Ground?) that goes into my fuse box. Do i just need to replace the charging wire and just the grounds? Or do i need to replace the 2 other wires on the fuse block also?? Much help would be appreciated.
SnowDrifter Posted September 6, 2013 Report Posted September 6, 2013 Don't replace the stock wiring. Add onto it. Leave the existing wiring in place and just do what you need to do. Alternator charging post to battery (don't forget to fuse) Battery ground to chassis ground Engine, or better yet: alternator casing to chassis ground.
