New Box.. lost highs?

Hi guys,

I recently built a new box for the first time nothing special.

It was based on this build design, (very very similar except that I have my woofer more to the left)

http://www.lifeafterbass.com/labsl2ftpomd18.html

Which was specific to my pioneer sub as well 1000w rms Pioneer ts w3002d2

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Subwoofers/Champion+Series+PRO/TS-W3002D2%7CD4

Now in my previous box which was (46.801L = 1.6528 cu ft) pioneer manufactured

http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/25/131/201/309D4SB/page.html

I hit higher notes in say for example Beamer Benz or Bentley, alot harder like I could feel the bass run through my body, on a few select songs I did notice a kind of bass lag not sure what u would call it, but to me it felt like it hit heavier in general and I could feel the bass on more then just that song run through me.

This box I can tell it doese hit some lower notes better. But I don't get that same feel, beamer benz is just so so now.

So is this how its meant to be, or have I done something wrong?, or should I be doing something else to get my higher notes back?

I have a 2011 lancer, boot is not sound deadened but wasnt an issue with the previous box, not the biggest boot either, unless im lacking air space now, since this is twice as big.

Would hate to think I've wasted a stack of time building a box, and then to like my old box better >.<

in general, if you hit lower. you'll lose top end. notice i said "in general".

Beamer benz or bently I think is like a 46hz tone. Prefab boxes are generally what? 40-45hz? So it would peak really well on those but not have very good low-end. That new box is bigger tuned to 33hz so it'll sound better on the lows but 46hz won't be as prominent.

So i'm out of luck then, I enjoyed those higher end notes :(

So I'm either
A: Start converting some songs to 32-33hz
B: Go back to old box
C: Another sub in same box, to decrease internal cu ft, and get increased highs, but then lose a bit out on low end freq?

No. Your tuning frequency will be the same if you throw another sub in the box. You'll just have 2 subs trying to fight over the same port that was made for 1 woofer. Be a normal bass-head and listen to stuff 32-33hz. Download some decaf and see what sounds really good. http://www.ram-designs.com/decaf/

Downloaded decaf 27-30 already.

Been going thru bits and pieces from each today, and some trap music La La La - by Naughty Boi (Kaos Remix) , that hits quite well, and chris browns Love More hits better then before.

Just a bit cut from missing the feel and sound beamer benz or bentley gave.

Looks like I'll need to experiment with the box, and some low end bass tracks, if not change the frequency of my favorites with audacity or something.

Smaller box. More backpressue against the sub will help with the high frequency drop off.

Try something around 1.75 cuft with the same tuning and I bet you'll get those high notes back
