jseville88 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Been building enclosures for years...a noob to this forum just wanted to get some opinions on my enclosure selection before I start building anything. I have a 18" nightshade v1 d2 woofer...I predominantly listen to rap or slowed down music, I have used this sub in a large ported box before and it was impressive... torn between big ported or 4th order gonna have between 1500-2000 rms...somebody give me a hand lol
95neon_thumper82 Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 tried a t line yet? I'm also a fan of a well built sixth order. I know night shades are capable of moving some air... so spl whould probably be gnarly from a sixth. <img src=http://i1332.photobucket.com/albums/w610/beastly666bassboy/IMG_9611192581855_zps9b9b76be.jpg border=0 alt= height="75" width="800"> Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option! slowfkncar Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 I can tell you off hand, that when I was running a 15" sundown nightshade v1 on a saz-2500 sundown amp,I could not take that sub to its limit & that was in 3.5ft^ net @ 31hz 65sq.inch port. Build your enclosure a little larger then recommended. Nice sub,I couldn't blow it from an aq3500 running at 4300@1ohm. I'm sure I had some impedance rise, none the less impressive woofer for its time. Not to mention, first sub I ever owned that could do a hair trick with the windows down
