greg4510 Posted September 23, 2013 Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 building a box for 2 treo ssx 18s in my 2007 chevy tahoe i have 49in wide 23in high and anywhere from 20-25in deep for a box which will give me about 13 cu ft or so using 3/4 mdf. i want to tune the box at about 32hz with the woofers firing up and port back. the last specs i did up gave me 130 sq in port 18 inch long for 31 but it doesnt seem like enough port area could someone help me please i dont wanna waste time or money on the build. what im really asking is do i need more port area or length to get what im looking for Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

greg4510 Posted September 23, 2013 Author Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 i also would like to know if i would get that much of a gain if i were to tune the 18s at 34hz instead of 32hz i listen to alot of rap and r&b. its going to be a daily driver with about 2500 watts on each woofer. i really would like to keep the box around 12 1/2 cubes at either 32 or 34hz. any help with port size at 12 1/2 cubes to tune the box at about 32 or 34 woild help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

greg4510 Posted September 23, 2013 Author Report Share Posted September 23, 2013 ok the way i was making the box was subs firing up and the port facing back and im using 3/4 mdf i was going to double the top for sure but im building it 23 high so take away 1.5 for the wood that leaves me 21.5 high for the port thats where im getting lost at. 21.5 high by 7 wide gives me 150sq in. and i also remeasured to be sure and its really only 48 wide 23high and 23 deep for the box which will give me 13.30 cu ft. so i need a port length for that 150 sq in port in 13.30 cu ft to get 32hz please?
