inferno1985 Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 i never really see people wire their subs to 4 ohms and buy a amp that puts out rms rated at 4 ohms.. thats costly and unnecessary you can find a amp that runs 1 ohm stable with dual 4 ohm subs wired to 1 ohm for $300 that does rated rms to each sub rather than buying a amp that does rated rms to each sub at 4 ohms for $1000. unless your electrical is really bad, hopefully he wasnt trying to make you buy a bigger amp so he can make more money off you.
finkster Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 Amps and ohms, amps and ohms. I just called another store to price check (I looked online last night as nowhere is open on Sunday) and the guy pretty much said exactly what you guys have. There's no reason I'd need to wire at 4Ohm. No clue why the guy at the shop would have even suggested that as he didn't have anything that could push that out (Meaning I'd have to buy it elsewhere). But that store I called did say they have a Pioneer 1600 that is 1Ohm stable and will put out 800RMS @ 1Ohm. So sounds like I'm in luck. Would you guys trust that or get a different one?
ben_slates Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 i have three subs that are 2 ohm and im trying to wire them down to 1 ohm on a 1 ohm stable amp. either way i wire it it comes out to 1.33 ohm or .67 ohm. i was thinking about wiring the subs to 1 ohm each and run seperate wires to the amp instead of wiring them all together, does anyone have any other ideas that might help or information or recomendations. i am open to any opinions.
Guest Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 you're stuck with either 1.33 or .67. no way you can get around that.

That's gotta be the one. He said on sale @ 169. Best Buy (place that's installing) wants 199. Sounded like a good deal. Will that amp put out rated though or am I better off shelling out a little more for a better brand?
