madnking Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 I have 2 new rexxx15d2 subs and 4 kicker kx1600.1 amps. Im going to put two amps on each sum one on each coil. Will these subs handle the power in a 10 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz. With gains n setting properly set. How reliable are these subs? With using four amps I think setting the gains evenly will be very important is a voltmeter accurate enough. Thanks. Would the smd d1 work in this application to set the amps thanks

Thanks hmmm sucks those subs are dual 2 ohm not dual 4 ohm so you could run one amp per sub since the sub is only 1500watts rms 2 amps per sub is kinda overkill i use the kx1600 on my orion hcca 10 thats 1500watts rms. ghostlyrich Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 I have read rms is 2000 and 4000 max ? a sorry i looked it up on sonic and forgot one of the x's your right its 2k http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36696_RE-Audio-XXX15D4.html do you already own the sub and amps ???? if not i would suggestbuying the d4 not the d2 or using diffrent amps that are 1 ohm stable so you dont need to many amps. seems like you could save money buy buying 2x re xxxx 15d4 2x kicker kx2400 My youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/ghostlyrich Mazda 3 2006 Build (R.I.P) http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/172728-mazda-3-2006-stealth-build/ Volkswagen GTI 2011 Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/192979-vw-gti-2011-build/ Jeep 2015 Build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/201493-my-new-jeep-2015/
Facekicker Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Rethink your amps, if you ask me. I would look at a Bass Clef 2000.1 or even a Hifonics BRZ 2100 for the money involved in those Kickers. You have no reason to put an amp on each coil, and it will only complicate and lengthen your install. I run some XXX 15's in a few different setups and they will take 2k RMS happily, 3K daily will make em stinky. edit: ghostly he's better off with the D2's and a 1 ohm stable amp on each one. The only reason you'd want D4's is if you were going to put both subs on one big amp or you only had amps that are 2 ohm stable. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power

madnking Posted October 13, 2013 Author Report Posted October 13, 2013 Unfortunately I already own the amps, thanks for the input.
CleanSierra Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Those amps put out their power at 2 ohms, you should have bought D4 subs if planning to run one amp per coil. Aside from that, you should NOT be waiting to send over 3K a piece to those subs. These are more of a sound quality and detailed subwoofer, there is no need to overpower by 50% . I would either re think you're sub voice coil choice, or you're amplifier choice. Unless you have a crazy hookup on those amps, that aren't cheap. Neither are the subs for that matter. I'd prefer running both subs on 1 amp for simplicity reasons. If you have the budget for what those amps normally sell for, than you have plenty to get a larger amp that can feed 2 of those subs very well. Edit- You ninja'd me. Do you own the subs yet? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
madnking Posted October 13, 2013 Author Report Posted October 13, 2013 I ordered the subs today lol. I got the amps for 450 each. I may cancel my sub order and get some fi sp4 dual 2 so I will have 1600 per coil at 2 ohms
madnking Posted October 13, 2013 Author Report Posted October 13, 2013 I already had two amps and two 15L7s and wanted to get louder so I thought it would be best to get two more amps and some better speakerz. Are the xxxs gonna be alot better the the L7s?
