ChevyBoy95
have been really wanting to wall my truck at the end/start of next year. have been thinking, along with the little help on the SQ site, 14 cubic feet with close to 200sqin of port. This is sort of for numbers, but in reality i want it as a daily driver wall that can play down to 28 well and play mostly everything but needs to crush 28-45hz or so. summary: 14 cubes 200sq in of port ~35-36hz tuning 2 HDC4's on a CT 7k at 1. Port will, i want it to be along the top.... any suggestions, tips, tweaks, ideas? CleanSierra
Sounds like an AWESOME plan and I'll tell you, that sub choice is great. They are monsters and they put out like an Asian hooker. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra
Also, I like the idea of the port along the top, I believe most guys are happy with that for daily and groundpounder setups. Tuning sounds like the right area too, even at 37-38 they can still get down to the area youre wanting. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. ChevyBoy95
yea, im so excited too. Just need to start saving up. Probably going to need to look at a few builds as well. Walls are straight forward... or at least the one im doing, but still want to look at platform designs, construction steps, etc. Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
CleanSierra
I'd invest in a Kreg jig and bit for the construction process. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
ChevyBoy95
I'd invest in a Kreg jig and bit for the construction process. yep, but i feel like with the size.... i can build most outside, slide in across, then back. CleanSierra
Oh yeah, thats right, you have an extended and not a crew cab huh? You have no dedicated B-pillar with an extended cab, I forgot. I agree, you should be able to build it outside and slide it in. It's going to be a heavy pig though, you might need a few buddies to help with the loading the box. If you were doing it solo, the Kreg would be an option. Those subs will LOVE that power and should take it daily with no problems. I think your plan sounds solid with lots'o'port and airspace and plenty of power to make them move. Where do you plan on doing the batteries? Maybe under the platform you make for the enclosure, you could lay your batts on the side if you wanted to hide them. ChevyBoy95
batteries are already in toolbox, so no worries there. Slapuhho
Sounds about right, My wall is a little on the big size and the AQ's handled it just fine. Would you ever consider doing a driver side port? A few of my friends have had success with them over top ports. 4 18's, low power and lots of gay fur. ChevyBoy95
Sounds about right, My wall is a little on the big size and the AQ's handled it just fine. Would you ever consider doing a driver side port? A few of my friends have had success with them over top ports. i would rather have it up top, but it is all in planning stages so it could change. the main issue is finding a spot for my ct 7k. cant do console, already has an amp, relays, blah blah blah in it. Cant do it on the side of the wall because my cab doesnt open back there. toolbox is full of batteries, not doing a bed cover due to heat and extra cost. So it needs to fit on the lower front pretty much.
