trent420
Has anyone tried running a mmats 3000.1 @ 1/2 ohm? Or a 3000.5 @ 1/4 ohm? Do you think it can safely be done(for music) assuming great electrical?
truthsayer
well i believe the 3000.1 is only stable down to 1 ohm. Add the 3000.5 is stable down to .5 ohm truthsayer
trent420
You are correct truthsayer, BUT people do it everyday with sundown, skar and many other well made amps. It will void the warranty, but it can be done in lots of cases. I need to know if anyone has actually tried it, and what their result was.
SnowDrifter
Any time you wire below the rated load of the amp, you risk breaking something. If you do it, do it knowing you could blow an amp and potentially your subs. Even start a fire. Know the risks and decide for yourself. Neither myself nor anyone here can say it will be safe. And should someone decide to tell you that it is, that person should have a blank check ready to pay for any and all damages if they are wrong ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
