Im doing a little upgrade to my system and need a few questions answered so I thought the SMD forums would be a smart place to start. I want to get a single 15" woofer for my 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I also want to keep my old school Rockford punch p8002 2ch amp to power it. I've narrowed my choice down to 2 subs. the SA-15 and the skar vvx. they are both currently the same price online but which is a better sub? should i go dual-2 or dual-4 with the amp i have? sundown's spec sheet says i should have a sealed enclosure for a dual 2 ohm, and a ported enclosere for the dual 4. why does the impedance of the sub matter if i want to make a ported enclosure? or could i still make a ported enclosure with a d2? I will probably make the box to manufacturer specifications unless someone knows where i can find plans for a perfect enclosure in the grand cherokee? I want the sub to be loud but I am more concerned with sound quality. I listen to mostly rap/dubstep. Help would be much appreciated!!! A MILLION DECIBALS!!!!
