I've searched and searched and can't find my exact scenerio.

I'm trying to do this install on my fiances car myself. I have a mtx 801d (

The amp is a 2ohm stable class d amp. there are two sets of terminals labeled speaker 1 and speaker 2, but they are wired internally in parallel and they provide mono output is what it says on crutch fields site under the description.
What I'm trying to do is figure out if there is a way to run these subs to a 2ohm load but the thing about the two terminals is throwing me off.
any help will be much appreciated.

Well it's still a mono amp but is "bridged" inside as you stated. They make it like that so it's easier for some people to wire subs up to it. What impedence are your subs is what tells if you can wire to 2 ohms. Pretend you wire 2 - 4 ohm SVC subs to each channel, that will give you your 2 ohm load to your amp. There are a couple options if your subs are DVC though as far as getting to the 2 ohms you are looking for.

Edit: ok, read more carefully this time, yes, as truthslayer stated above. lol Sorry, your link doesn't work on work computer but here...

that is what i was afraid of. the part where it said it was wired internally in parallel was making me hope something else could be different. the subs are rated at 400w rms each. and the amp at 4 ohms is rated at 400w rms. will this be sufficent for the subs or will it be considered bad and underpowered?

fiance bought the subs earlier this year, i wasnt thinking and should of figured this stuff out to tell her to get the dvc 2ohms instead.
