Does anyone have experience with painting plastic? Do I need to sand it down first, of just spray some kind of adhesive or primer on it first? Thanks for advice in advance!

If its textured you'll need to sand it down (unless you like the texture) if your sanding it down start with a low grit, not too low or it'll leave marks. Once you get the texture knocked down most of the way wash it with soapy water, then dry. Hit it with a couple coats of filler primer (the grey one, NOT RED) then sand some more with higher grit. Repeat till its to your liking of smoothness, then clean again to make sure. Then a few light coats of color, maybe a medium coat, then a few light coats of clear and your done (well you could wet sand/buff at this point but that's up too you)

Thank you. That's why I made sure to put underneath that picture "for now". Any suggestions? I like my big screen.. I enjoy being able to watch movies.

I REALLY appreciate that. I actually understood everything you said. I'll be getting on that soon.

I would like to do an iPad in dash, but that's far above my skill level and I'm very skeptical about fiberglassing yet.

No problem, when i was first reading up on how to paint it seemed difficult, after the couple times i realized people just made it sound difficult lol! Just take your time, don't rush (especially the sanding) and it'll come out great, and even if it doesn't, you could always sand it down and try again
