I plan on doing a single 18 hdc4 in 14^3ft (half of this will be port) and running a AQ 3500.1 (the newer 4300 boards) 1. I was wondering how thick of a 15x15 piece of plexi i should use to prevent flex 2. What batteries do you guys recommend for a daily on that power and how many? 3. And does fiberglassing the inside of the box really make a difference? Any other recomendations would be great!

Alot of people are going to recommend XS Power, and that's not a bad route to go. (Probably one of the best if not thee best) biggest you can fit. I am a big believer in fiberglassing (my box is) and for that kind of power with a huge box like that its not a bad idea. One more tip I learned: when joe X tells you to build a cardboard dummy box to see if the one your building will fit in your application, and you don't do it? It is thoroughly and to the core of your bones your fault when it inevitably dosen't fit. CleanSierra Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 I'm currently building a box for 4 18s and it will be 1.5" on all sides and 2.25" on the baffle. All corners will be glassed. I will be throwing two vertical braces for the port, one horizontal, and 3-4 big ass threaded rods or wooden braces baffle to bottom of the enclosure. Granted this is nearly a 20 cube net box, but I'm covering my ass. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
JTeas Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 Im going to put the plexiglass on the rear facing wall like a window to see the sub inside the box, itll be sandwiched between the 1st and 3rd layer with a 3in overlap to silicone and bolt it air tight. Thats my idea if you can follow, do you think a 12x12 square of half inch plexi will flex?
CleanSierra Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 I've seen single HDC4 setips on vehicles before and they are straight up nasty. I don't know if I'd try to get fancy with plexiglass in an application like this. That's me personally. I don't KNOW if your plan would work but. You know who did a nice plexiglass window was HunterJohnson(member here). He did a Scion tC with a Sundown Z15 I believe and it had one or two plexiglass Windows. You may hit him up and see what his suggestions are. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
