cnet15 Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 So i would assume this is a pretty simple and noobish question but what is the point of people raising the voltage on their cars from say 14 volts to 16 volts? And how does this affect the car?

Running the vehicle on higher than factory voltage can possibly damage the vehicle electronics. This depends on the car and the voltage level. Most vehicles with higher than factory voltage would need to run an isolated system to the audio amplifiers.
