Chance_P
Hey guys, simple, common question. How much battery do I need? Mechman 270, second alt, only powering my amps. Set to 15v Two runs of 1/0 ofc positive and two ground 4400 watts at 1 ohm 400 at 2 ohms 1000 watts at 4 ohm I have no idea how much battery I will need considering the dedicated alt. I obviously would like to run the minimum amount, and add if needed. Any input is appreciated guys.
Skullz
Best to add up your amp hour totals from all the equipment and add 20% as a precaution. Add all the fuse ratings of your amps and add 50a for your cars draw with most everything running, then add your alt plus how ever many batteries it will take to match the amp draw of all your equipment. For example if your amps pull 500a and you car is 50a then you'll want 550a capacity, but as i said you would want to add an extra 20% requiring you to have roughly 650a of capacity, and with your 270a alt you'll want another 400a worth of battery capacity. That is just a bit of a guide line for a place to start and you always want to watch your volt meter to make sure everything is running fine and not drawing to much to fast. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
