Kylemay1 Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Im gonna put 4 p1 15's in the back of a blazer facing up in a similar design to steve meade himselves. Ive built lots of boxes but never one this massive. I dont know if i need to build them all in the same box but individually chambered or just one box with a big square port on the back? They recommend 2.66 cubic feet max in a ported box. So do i just multiply that by 4 to get my box volume size? Or some other way of doing it?
99blazer Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 are you gonna put your back seats down or leave them up? because you only have 30 inches from the backseat to the window. 08 Ford F150
t-money Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 what amp are you planning on running first 2002 ford focus hatch pioneer DEH-P8400bh infinity kappa 6.5 components front and rear XS Power D1200 Shuriken BT-100 audioque 120.4 2 15 inch audioque HDC3 D2 2 audioque 2200d big 3 mechman 220a alt with external regulator 479-418-3056
Kylemay1 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 I was gonna leave backseat up so i could still ride 4 ppl. I think i can fit all 4 in that back section i might just have to build box higher up to get air space right. And i was gonna get all 4 subs as single 4 ohm so i could wire them down to 1 ohm on my rockford t-1000 power series amp. Amps supossed to push 1600 watts rms at 1 ohm load according to birth sheet. The subs are 250 rms a peice and 500 max so i figure amp should be able to push them all decently. Just trying to keep from having to buy another amp
Kylemay1 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 An this is in an 03 blazer and its at my dads house so i cant measure right now but i cant remember length from backseat to backglass
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Is it a 4 door? if so I'll go measure mine right now for you. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Kylemay1 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 Yea 4 door 03 blazer. Hatchback and all
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 Just measured you got about 33" from seats to hatch that would be a squeeze and leave no room for your port to breathe . If I was you i would fold the seats down or go with different subs. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Kylemay1 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 What about if i put ports out the sides? Dunno how that would sound but individually chambered with 4 inch port tubes out the side 10 inches long? Just a consideration
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 I really think unless your gonna wall it or fold the seats down you should just reconsider the 4 15's idea. maybe just do 2 nicer 15's or something. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
