It will power the head unit display only but nothing else will function on some models. just a thought because I had a similar experience. I had to put it in standby, press av in twice for 2 seconds, and change my input from USB to av in 2. Holy shit that was over the top to use a damn MP3 player. Wasn't even in the manual. Thanks all!
