Maxim
Just curious why i5 and not i7? Which would would you recommend? Also will I not need a sound card for 5.1 output? You don't need the Socket 2011 and X79 platform for your needs. The Socket 2011 platform is designed for users who have 3-4 high-end graphics cards or multiple expansion cards that need the extra bandwidth that the Socket 2011 processors can deliver. The cheaper Socket 1150 processors are designed for driving 1-2 high-end cards and can even handle 3-4 cards in some cases. For the extra money you're pouring into the Socket 2011 chip and the X79 motherboard you will see no performance improvements because you only have one graphics card in that build. You're better off getting a Z87 motherboard and a Socket 1150 i5 and investing the extra money in a higher-end graphics card in order to have a more balanced build and get much more performance from your components. The i5 is still a full quad-core part and paired with the faster graphics card will actually get you better gaming performance for your dollar. wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 . I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt
