subsonicluv
Glueing down 2nd baffle. It was supposed to be all one piece until I broke it and then it turned into 3 pieces. Still looked good IMO. Glue dried and rounded over the entire front. Also used a 3/4 roundover bit for port openings. Nice and recessed 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)

subsonicluv
OK here's where I started to get nervous. Stapled fleece down to about 3/8 to a 1/2" below the top edge. Temp mounted the subs so the magnets could push up the fabric so I could glass around them. My 1st big glassing job. My friend knew it but he didn't care....He just said go with it and we'll see how it turns out Subs were protected with plastic and masking tape 1st layers Subs removed. It was holding shape More glassing More sanding Getting there Pic my wife took of me slaving away 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
subsonicluv
Did one more coat covering the entire outside Started sanding all of it smooth A little bit of body filler and primer prepping for paint Wet sanded and terminals drilled. Used 1/4-20 screws. Ended up flipping them around because of clearance issues behind the box Shitty Krylon paint Used Rustolium. Much better 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
thefourth
Really nice work Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. subsonicluv
Subs mounted and wired up. put the coils in series and then the subs will be paralleled for a final 2ohm load So I tested them in my garage with a small stereo receiver. Had to series the subs together to bring them up to 8 ohms. I didn't sound bad except for a little bit of port noise. I was a little afraid of this because of the 180 degree turn in the ports. I hoped it wouldn't be audible inside a vehicle and I did some more testing in my blazer. Brought the subs back down to a 2 ohm load and used my Boston Acoustics GTA1000m so they were getting about 500 watts a piece. Maybe less because of rise. They sounded great! Played down to 27Hz without breaking a sweat. Here it is in the F150 He's got the 500/1 portion of a JL900/5 on them right now and they're laughing at it. All stock electrical. There is a Hifonics Zeus 3000.1 installed and waiting to be wired up. Hopefully he does some electrical upgrades before. I'll try to get better pics of it in has truck and maybe some vids of it playing. He's out of town right now so I'll have to wait till he gets back 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
