subsonicluv
What's up gentlemen! Here's a couple of boxes I've been working on for a friend at work while my build has been on hold. They both went under the back seat of a 2012 F150. Here we go. Early stages on Sketchup. It came out to 1.67 cubes after displacements and tuned to 37Hz. Port area was 4" by 4.5" and 17" long IIRC. Pieces cut out. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
03silvergt
Looks like a fun box to build. I'm guessing the other sub is mounted on top? 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT CC - Will be running 2-3 DC Audion M3 8s, unsure of amp, Mechman 320 amp alt. 2005 Ford F150 - Bagged on 24s, fully shaved, raised bed floor. subsonicluv
Looks like a fun box to build. I'm guessing the other sub is mounted on top? It was definitely a fun project and it allowed for some much needed practice. This particular box only had 1 down firing 12. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)

subsonicluv
Got the port rounded over and also started filling in the screws. Started on coating the entire outside of it with resin. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)

subsonicluv
I must have lost some pics because there's some steps that were skipped here. Anyways, finished product. Glossy.. The carpet got a little dirty from the garage floor but I cleaned it off before delivery of course. I only got to test it in my garage and it played well below tuning. Although I never heard it in his truck, he said he had the same result. (plus cabin gain). It was short lived and he was ready to upgrade after about 2 months. So that begins the next box. Stayed tuned.... 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
subsonicluv
OK here's the start of the box my friend currently has in his truck. (delivered last Monday) Two SA-8 V-2s with the SPL coils. Next to one of my Vegas Dwarfing an S8-L7 Annnnd....me using Sketchup to try and figure out how to make these lil monsters fit under his back seat. This kinda shows how it would have been impossible to keep the top the same contour as the previous box. The blue and white circles represent the diameter of their fat asses. I tried to have both of them on the passenger side with 1 port facing the drivers' side, as I know it has been proven that this configuration yields the best results in most pickups. But.....there was some shit in the way that kept me from being able to do that. The seat frame is at the ends and there's some release handles on the bottom of the seat that was about 8" in from both ends. He told me in the middle it's just fabric and it can be pushed up. So subs ended up right in the middle with each in their own chambers and a port for each facing both ends of the enclosure. This was by far the most challenging box I've ever built. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
subsonicluv
Alright so after dealing with the amount of physical space they take up and clearance issues, keeping them in a tolerable box volume, tuning frequency, port area, unloading, box volume, cancellation issues, and all of what I just wrote about 20 more times, I came up with something I thought would work. .67 cubes after displacements for each chamber tuned at 35Hz with a 180 degree turn in the ports (wished I didn't do this) 10.5" of port area port was 34" long all fiberglass top Here goes nothing... Baddass router I got for Christmas last year Homemade circle jig Perfect Started assembly Lol. I did this a lot Divider in and mocking up port Start of port construction. I used 1/2" for this. Wishing I didn't. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
subsonicluv
Used a 1/2" roundover bit on the outside of the port assemblies and glued them in place. 04 Blazer Xtreme HU: Kenwood KDC-MP235 Front Stage: Lanzar MX6C Components Rear Stage: Lanzar MX693 6X9's Sub Stage: (2) Obsidian 18 D2 V2 Mids / Highs Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 704 Sub Amp: Boston Acoustics GTA 1000m Optima Yellow Top (up front) Singer 275A Alternator Future Plans: One More GTA 1000m (maybe) More batteries More runs of 1/0 Pioneer DEH-X7500S (on order)
