Kraco Amp - Any good?

Recommended Posts

Hey there. Quick question.

A local guy is selling a "Kraco KA-3032 80 Watt 2-Channel Amplifier." I was wondering if anyone has even heard of kraco. They look super oldschool, which is why I'm attracted to it. The old brands worth a hoot always seemed to do more than rms. But I don't want it if it's junk. The guy is asking 20 bucks. So yay, or nay?

Subs = 2x Rockford Fosgate p110's in custom ported box

Amp = Rockford Fosgate 451s (115 watts rms x 2 into 4 ohms)

Rear = Sony xplod 6.5 coaxials (they were on clearance at target :D )

Front = Soundstorm 6.5's

Wire = some 8 gauge crap my friend gave me

head unit = an older alpine

I'M POOR OK :(

Kraco is junk as far as I know. But it could be a neat nastalgia piece. $20 is a decent price if its in pristine condition and it works.

When I was a kid kraco was the Boss of car audio

So realistically what will it do rms? Maybe 20x2@4? You think it'll be clean at all? I'm thinking about saving it and using it later for some components or something.

Here's the ad for reference. Doesn't look like it's in bad condition. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/4271510337.html

lol fire. buy it its old and kool looking fuck what anyone else has to say. althought keep in mind most decks can do 20 rms at 4

I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

Yea from what I've seen decks range from 14 - 25. The attraction to a seperate amp though is I can tune it so it doesn't start clipping at volume 21 of 35 or whatever. Or I could use it dedicated to run tweeters.

could do the same with a deck. i run an external amp for my mids and highs so the outs on the deck havnt been used at all but when i get my new components im thinking about putting my old ones in the rear. and my xoxer are bi ampable so ima run my front l/f to the tweater and rear l/r to the mid
