Sean Lovins Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 I have two 12" Fosgate T2's in a box built to cubic feet specs that sat in the back of my old SUV. I got rid of the SUV for my 06 Acura RSX and this huge box in my car is a joke. It doesn't fit, at all, i had to drop on side of the back seat and put it in sideways. So basically my car is now a three seater. I was wondering if i could get some advice on what i should request when i go to get a new box built. It seems like shops around here don't really care about getting the specs right, they just wanna build a box with two holes in it and call it a day. I don't know much about the requirements for the T2's and any help would be appreciated.
SuperspeedWheelchair Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 I'm going to assume your using a bandpass enclosure which would explain the size. In a suv that would be the ideal choice for max power output. Since your in the same compartment bandpass usually is the best choice for that. To save space I would go sealed, your will most def be able to get that enclosure in the rsx. rftech shows these specs Vb 56.63 Liters F3 44.4 Hz Qtc 0.68 Height 44.45 cm (17.5 in.) Width 52.07 cm (20.5 in.) Depth 35.56 cm (14 in.) Spk. Cutout 35.08 cm (13.812 in.) Spk. Depth 25.08 cm (9.875 in.) Vd 4.98 Liters So your just going to use these numbers times 2.
Sean Lovins Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 what exactly are those specs referring to though?
SuperspeedWheelchair Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 those are the specs for constructing a sealed enclosure for one sub. So your just going to multiply by 2 to get the numbers for two subs.
Sean Lovins Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 so those specs fit for the recommended cubic air space and everything? by the way, thank you
