ryley_999 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 i have an older jbl sub, i cooked the coil in it, so i pulled it apart the rest of the softparts are alright, and im wondering the best way to separate the coil from the cone so i can put the new one in, and the glue is super pia, and i dont want to damage the cone, so i figured someone on here would have some good tricks of the trade lol any info would be greaty apprecated, thx in advanced btw im new here, and i wasnt sure where i should ask this question so im sorry if this shouldnt be here
SnowDrifter Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Typically we replace everything when we recone a sub. Spiders, coil, cone, surround, etc. Easier to glue new ones than separate old ones ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
