Hello everyone, I just purchased a kicker ZXS 1500.1 amp rated at 1500 watts rms at 2 ohm. I'm gonna be running two sundown audio sd-2 10 inch subs rated at 500 watts a piece with this amp. They are DVC 2 ohm each. My question is will this amp be too powerful for these two subs? 1500 watts split between the both of them so I'm looking at 750 watts a piece. Is this overkill for these subs or would they perform alright?

you should be fine as long as your gain is set correctly. not by ear or by guessing. if your clipping your subs on over rated power its just a matter of time before there done. if your gain and electrical is set right your fine

If you have the $$$ go the sa series

agreed, but nonetheless those subs should be fine as long as the gain is set correctly and u don't do something foolish like turn the bass boost up or something like that. But yes the sa series would give u more output on that power for sure.

Yeah I would go with the sa but I don't have enough depth for those. Do you guys have any opinion about the amp? Good or bad? I read that it comes with Like a birth certificate for wattage :)
