Fabian Ponce Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 Do they have a limit to how much power (rms) they can handle? Ive been looking at a LC7i for a new car i'm getting ( to much work to get a new HU in) and i believe its states that they can only handle up to 400 RMS. This correct? or was i misinformed?
bcbrassard Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I have install a LC7 off a low end Pioneer HU with only High level pre-outs and it worked great. Solid unit and easy to set gains with DD-1. Little spend but great unit. When i upgraded to the 80-PRS i took it out and still have it. Thinking about installing in my girls Malibu to keep stock HU.
Fabian Ponce Posted January 31, 2014 Author Report Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks for the input. When i was reading the specs it said that maximum power input is 400 RMS. What does this exactly mean?
775Tundra Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 That means that it can only convert an input signal of up to 400 watts. But your stock deck won't be putting out that kind of power. Or any other deck at that. 2003 Tahoe dc 7.5k dc level 5 15's (3) MMats 341's xs power batts lots of sky high cable dual alts(came off the sky-high gmc and don't know who made them) ipad in center console vu-din in center console all being ripped out and being sold

Did you notice any sound quality difference when switching from the LC7i to your new HU? I noticed a huge difference in clarity when I switched from the lc6i to avh4500bt in my tundra. 2003 Tahoe dc 7.5k dc level 5 15's (3) MMats 341's xs power batts lots of sky high cable dual alts(came off the sky-high gmc and don't know who made them) ipad in center console vu-din in center console all being ripped out and being sold
bcbrassard Posted February 3, 2014 Report Posted February 3, 2014 Yes i noticed a difference after installing the 80-PRS, but i had also done of other things that contributed to better sound quality in the system. I still think the Audio Control products are good. But shit in = shit out.... Right?
