I was thinking about what i said before and i realized you wont even have to worry about clipping since you are setting the max volume with the dd-1. So i retract my previous statements. lol

Now I would like to address my video that was posted.

The intention of that test was to show the accuracy and ease of the AMM1, but what it also shows it that clamping is also not 100% accurate on a fixed load. When using an Oscope, you have to read the scope and detect distortion or clipping visually. Are your eyes a calibrated distortion detector? Not quite. The Dyno stops reading at Distortion and clipping depending on the mode used. Even using a fixed load bank and clamping method, you are still counting on your eyes to make a visual assessment of where clipping first occurs to find the clean/usable power.

Yes, and the dd-1 always runs at least to the point of distortion in every mode, it just knows to stop reading before that point depending on the mode used. But after i realized the op wont be using a dyno he wont have that issue since he will already have gains set to before that point ahead of time.

That can actually vary. If a -5db track is used with the dd1 and a 0db track is used for the test, there could be a variance.

Very creative use of an amplifier heatsink. Before I set my sights on the AD-1, I built 2 different resistor bank setups for my testing. One was very similar to the one Rolex shows here...800W total with 8 100W resistors. Then I decided to build a bigger one and this one used a full size PC tower as the enclosure. It housed (32) 120W resistors for up to 3840W of resistance at 0.5 ohm mono or the ability to load 4 channels at 960W each.
