exc500 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Anyone have any opinions on this amp. I am planning on using it for a mid and high amp. I have an xtant 3300c currently that I'm using but I'm getting some high pitched noise from it and have heard that its usually caused by the design of the fets? I'm not asking which is better amp . Just is the boston amp going to be satisfactory? I also have an elemential designs 9.5 but the four channel section is in protection mode and don't really know if its worth fixing I've been quoted 100 $ for a new board from an ed tech. I'm using an soundqubed 3500.1 on three t2d212's. And have alpine type r 6.5 components front and rear with a set of jl 6.5 mid bass .this is in a 2009 Chevrolet silverado x-cab. And I have an audiocontrol epicenter that I mainly use as a line driver . Would the boston gt42 be a decent mid and high amp?
BoomZoom808 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 I had a GT-2200 and it has enough power to drive subs but is was simply stellar pushing mids I think you will be happy with it. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
exc500 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 Thanks I'm going to take my xtant out and get some service work done on it cause I do like the amp but hopefully the gt42 will be a good replacement for time being. Appreciate the input.
