Joe X
Joe x thanks for making that box , but I don't understand the port specs..? On that calculator it says the length is 27"for the port . but how is that if the depth of the box is only 19"? As you can see from the pic, the port turns to continue sideways, that's why I specified an "extension" part.
jake297
I don't understand how long my port is going to be though ? I see that the width is 6" but the length says 27" how is that possible?
jake297
Is it 17.5 across? 12"deep?
Joe X
The port window is 17.5 deep and 6" wide as you can see on the screenshot, the length of the port total center line length is 27.75, it first goes down and then it turns sideways. jake297
Ok I understand now. Cool. So I had no idea the subs could bottom out if the area space was to large for them??? Huh.. Well hey I was wondering if you could only do the L port? Or what if I wanted a slot port on the back or in between the subs?
jake297
And 32hz is where I'm going for now I'm not sure about
jake297
I was getting confused with the length and depth . I thought depth was going in, and the length was the part on top(window)
Joe X
Changed tuning to 32Hz, power up to 2K per sub, the subsonic filter is a setting in your sub amplifier, it usually needs to be engaged and then there's a knob where you can set the filter frequency, that should be set around 28 Hz, lastly I wouldn't do a port across the back and also would not consider doing a larger box as you will be overpowering the subs who knows how much. For whatever box you end up doing round all the inner edges of the port at the turn and both ends.
