I am getting ready to purchase a Rockford Fosgate P500.2 amplifier that has two 30A fuses... I was wondering if the fuse at the battery being 60A is good enough, or is there supposed to be a little over on the batt fuse to allow proper power.

As long as you have a 60 it will be fine, although using a larger fuse up front may cause a tiny bit less resistance & keep your overall voltage the amp sees a couple tenths of a percent higher...
