Hotdog Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Has anyone had to go through a Total Loss claim when you were not at fault. Just had my car totaled and other driver was at fault because the blew through a stop sign and t-boned the car on the passenger side. Would it be a reasonable request to have the insurance company replace the car with another car same make, model, year with comparable options. truthsayer Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 it would be reasonable to an extent. If you have full coverage and a replacement plan, then your insurance should go after the other insurance co to replace the vehicle. In most cases if it is totaled, they will give you the blue book value. Anyway good luck. truthsayer
Hotdog Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 Actually we are both insured by same company. We did have full coverage but were not at fault. iamspeed Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 As far as I know you can get the same specs as your old car if it is totaled, depends on the adjuster though.
