Hey everyone I'm looking for a little advice with a few suggestions. I'm really not sure what exactly i want to go with as far as an amplifier for 2 18" re sx's rms on them is 1000. I'm back and forth on just spending the money and getting a great amp or staying under my $400 budget and getting a slightly less quality amplifier. I've ran audiopipe amps before and i like them even though i know they aren't high quality by no means. Also i've been looking at the hifonics amps but it's been so long since i've had to search for a new amp that I can't make my mind up on one. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Also for these subs the box I want to build is going to be about 15cubes@34hz if that helps with the suggetions on powering these things. And expect a build log very soon on this system lol.

That could get interested with her potential positions, this being one of the better.. As soon as we started getting into it though, I'd have to toss her a serious taint/balls teabag from hell though with her head right there.-Marlo Stanfield

You can look for a used soundqubed 2200 or get a new one. A new one will be a little over your budget but worth it. IMO stay away from the audio pipe and hifonics amps. Audio pipe is just plain shit and hifonics do power but they require a lot of electrical to make there power and it's dirty power at the end. Are they ok for starters yes but IMO that's all. Get the sq 2200 and you will love it.

142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at)

141 on music.

Thanks for the info I'll take a look around see what I can find. Ya i figured the hifonics was dirty power just unsure since i've never had one. And thats one thing i really want to avoid. Clean power=sub life lol. But also i got some bad news on the re sx's i found. Got an email saying that they were getting them ready to be shipped but they said they were badly damaged, so he was nice enough to not send me the damaged ones and said that he contacted re and they were gonna build me a set of new subs. So i emailed him back and told him that i don't want the new sxx which is what they will build, right? or can they build an old style sx? but either way i told him the only reason i bought these were because he had the listing as the older sx.

As long as the motor is good and it's just a basket issue you can buy a new basket and a recone and the subs will be like new. Not 100%the same but still the old re motor

ya I just thought that these were new in box still but im having doubts that these were a warehouse find. I think he just listed them as the older version just cause he knows they sell better

I'd say any amps from Sundown, DC, DD, and CT are all very good. Memphis makes a decent amp too for starting out and I'm pretty sure soundqubed makes a decent amp too.

Welcome to my sig :D

Crescendo has the S1500.1's for $300 or something. Does over 1500w RMS apparently and is freaking tiny.

I bought one, still on a UPS truck so cant say anything other than the info i've seen on it looks decent.

MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..."

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
