      ^^^^LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  2. If i build a super efficient box, I can still compete in my watt category and rape other people like i've been doing.
  3. I've been thinking about just building a new box for my SA-12's then saving up some money and buying a couple NSv3's this summer or later in the year.
  4. I'm in a Jeep Grand Cherokee which is an suv with the cabin open to the trunk, so the trunk shares the airspace with my cabin which makes everything resonate hella loud. The only reason I competed in the trunk cat. was that there was no one else with an SUV in my rms category and it was a small competition. I could fit 4 12's easy or 2 and maybe 4 15's. So i was gonna go ahead and try for the single NS 18 because it's about the same price as the Zv4 package that was being offered but ended up being sold. I would build a custom enclosure firing up and make it as efficient as possible. If i did a new enclosure for my 12's i feel like it'd still be kindof starving them or atleast the single 18 would be more efficient with a super box considering it has more cone area as well. And if I do the NSv3 i can throw a lot more power into it then i could with 2 sa-12's.
  5. Affordable doesn't always equate to "bad." Plus, you'll have four of them. I get what you're saying. I've only been in car audio for just over a year so I'm not the most knowledgeable by far, but that's why I'm here xD. Let's say I wanted to do competitions locally for a trunk/small SUV class, would I get laughed at? I won a small competition at my shop when I put up a 145.2 out of the trunk class and then i put up a 144.9 in the 1200-1500rms category and won that too. I've kinda fallen in love with car audio and want to be more invested into it, but i feel like those guys showing off their kicker walmart shit when I'm demo-ing my SA-12's to guys who have like Zv4's, DD 9900's, etc.
  6. I'm friends with the local shop I go to and they give me full price refund on anything when I upgrade, So i'd be getting back around 450 or so for both of my SA's and like 150 or so for my box. From there I'd have to build a new box and I kinda have no idea how to build a box on my own. I've never been the best with woodworking and carpentry tbh and I don't have too many tools at my disposal, It'd definitely be fun tho if someone gave me a nice design for box firing up with a rear port for my SA's and a list of materials, because I have no clue what i'm doing in that avenue. n8 would it still sound "good" if I added 2 more SA-12's or would it just sound goofy? I still feel like a noob running SA-12's instead of a higher quality sub but I'm open to the idea for sure. Do you think the SQ/SPL would be pretty good on 4 SA-12's firing up? Edit: Left out a pretty important part.
  7. The store now has sold the package, hence no longer an option.
  8. So right now I have 2 SA-12's in a prefab enclosure. I'm thinking of upgrading to a single NSv3 or a Zv4 18 in a custom enclosure. I was previously going to buy 2 Zv4 12's in a custom enclosure but the store that I was going to buy them from ended up selling them to someone so it's now out of my price range to do that. Granted that I'm going to upgrade my amp, which will i get higher SPL/SQ out of? I know the cone area is greater with the 2 SA-12's but will the HUGE upgrade of the sub quality make a big enough difference to be able to drop down to a single 18 and still be louder? Edit: Additional info
  9. How much does it usually cost to build a box by yourself? I know it's around 350+ to have one build for me, because I've never done it before and honestly I don't trust myself to build one. Edit: Left a word out xD
  10. Just got offered an internship at Koch Industries... I'm not even old enough FML. Get me out of the restaurant business and into the cash flow baybay.

Dude I hope so, I'm going in for a job shadow today and see what it's like :D

  11. And .............. Camaros are faster than Corvettes $50 is better than $100 in the economy one eye is better than 2 for peripheral vision handsaws are better than table saws cause they are more accurate and sluts are better than virgins cause they have more experience ROLEX is on spot with this analogies in this post lmfao. Thanks for all the help guys, I'm gonna ask them to hold the Zv4's with the enclosure for me. I'll get some pics of the enclosure which is perfect for my car. It's firing up with a rear port and it fits freakin perfectly. They were running it off 2 M3b's for the Midwest SPL and they pushed a 150.9 when i was there.
  12. Perfectly Described. Literally couldn't have been put better lol. The only reason I'm wondering is that my local shop has a pair of zv4 12's that they made a box for to do in a Midwest SPL show, and they used it for that day and are trying to sell it now. So i'd be trading in my sa-12's and enclosure and getting the new setup for around 800 dollars. It seems like a pretty damn good deal considering the box is sexy as hell and the subs are brand new. But I won't be able to afford an amp for a while which means i'll be running my 1500d on 2 Zv4's lmfao... So you're right, i'd be under powering untill I could get 500+ to get at least a 3500d, even though I'd want to go for a 5000d or a DD m4 or something like that. I'm a huge sundown fan so I'd love to stay in the brand. At the moment I usually take baby steps and spend like 200-300 dollars at a time on upgrades, but it seems it's gonna take $800+ to upgrade considering I'm going to have to build a box no matter what, I'm still running on a prefab. Thanks Rolex, i appreciate it man.
  13. Ok, So if I'm going to build a custom box, should i take the stop to Zv4's and kill all my money, or go with X's and still have some money left over. Basically what i'm asking, is will I notice much of a difference (hearing wise not numbers)? I'm pretty sure the answer will be yes, but as far as someone who is still somewhat new and wants to gain experience, should I go with the x's?
  14. I was just wondering how much of a difference between the X's and the Zv4's there are, especially for the price difference. I'm trying as hard as possible to not make this a vs. thread but for the value, quality, SPL, etc. how much of a difference is there and if it were you, would you make the leap from purchasing X's to purchasing Zv4's.
  15. you dont need to gain match strapped amps. everything is controlled via the amp that is set as the Master. knob positions dont matter whatsoever for the slave amp.
  16. you dont need to gain match strapped amps. everything is controlled via the amp that is set as the Master. knob positions dont matter whatsoever for the slave amp. Huh I didn't know that. I've never dealt with strapped amps before, I just know it's an option. Or the OP could get a good quality amp and run it at .5 ohms if it'd be more cost efficient. My Sundown SAZ-1500d v.3 runs 2k at .5 ohms without breaking a sweat.
  17. Yeah to run true 2k at a 2 ohm load you're not gonna find much for cheap, there's someone selling a m4 or something close on the classifieds for 800 but tbh you're gonna have a hard time not breaking the bank if you want to get a quality piece of equipment that'll be reliable
  18. So sexy, Is it headed to Advance Audio in Wichita , KS by chance?
  19. Any chance this is going to Advance Audio in Wichita, Kansas? I asked them to inquire to you guys about a single NSv.3 15" O.O
