Second Skin Audio

small box subs

Would anyone be able to reccomend me a 12 inch driver in production that will work in a fairly small enclosure?

Something with a 3-3.5" VC.

Probably will be on either a 5k or a 7.5k at .5 for strictly burps and 2 ohm daily.

Only thing that comes to mind for me is a XL m2.. hmmm

I mean you could do the Alpine type R Shallows, but idk about the SQ or SPL on them. I have a buddy who has them and likes them, but he's not a whole lot into car audio, he's just an average consumer. Other than that, there aren't too many subs i can think of with that small of a driver.

Oh, that's not THAT small. With that kind of power for a burp, you've got a tall order to fill. Maybe a Mayhem or SSA ZCON?

I'll look into those Clean. Ill have to pass on the shallows.. not sure how they would take even .134 seconds of a 7.5k burp

Also, they do not have a large enough voice coil to dissipate heat from the power.

Yeah I wasn't even thinking into that, I was just thinking of smaller voice coiled subs xD.
