Cdizzle Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 For some odd reason my stereo just starting shutting off when I brake real hard. I checked the power wire with a DMM when I was driving and it was at 14.6 then when I brake the volts dropped and the cd player shut off. Basically a second later the cd player comes back on and it doesnt reset or anything, it plays the song right where it shut off at, and all my settings are still the same its just annoying as hell. I tried going in reverse and braking hard and it doesnt shut off when I do that... anyone know what the hell is up? Damn Thiefs
Mr. Darkjustice Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 my guess would be a crossed wire, theyre snagged somewhere and pullin whenever you break, or just loose connections Fusion With A Stetsom 4k2d on 2 DC XL 15s tuned to 31hz and Subs and ports forward The Revolution Was Not Televised But There Is This Thread(clicky) Dr Merkenstein is my 360 gamertag and my profession. Cdizzle Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 If that was the case, then why doesnt the stereo shut off when I brake hard in reverse? I would move the power wire from the cd player to a different wire that is attached to the cars electrical, but everything is hooked up professionally since I had someone install the cd player due to the fact my car is a '59... Damn Thiefs
jmsonoma03 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 sounds like you are losing acc power if it was a loose ground or hot the deck would reset itself.check ignition wire connection.
Cdizzle Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 sounds like you are losing acc power if it was a loose ground or hot the deck would reset itself.check ignition wire connection. The only thing that I can think of is that I just installed a new electric automatic choke, and maybe that is sucking some power... the acc wire would affect the cig. lighter power wire? Damn Thiefs
bass 4 love Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I had the same problems but it was a wire!! i would stop and it would cut off!!! the constant was coming a loose just enough where it would cut off but come right back on!! but that might not be the case for you!!! just do a quick check from back of the cd player!! are the wires taped of clamped on or are they loose!! thats what i would do!
