sextiva Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 i have alpine head unit newer model and pioneer 6x9 door speakers that im pretty sure has integrated tweeters. I also have a factory amplifier wired to my door speakers 96 jeep grand cherokee. My door speakers at max volume are equivalent to my nephews 96 grand cherokees at half volume. What could be the problem?
Guest Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 stock speakers probably had lower resistance voice coils than your pioneers.
Skullz Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Your trying to compare a stock system to a now non stock system, as kranny said the ohm load was most likely lower which sounded louder than the aftermarket stuff you have. Replace the stock amp with something more powerful and you'll be better off for it. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
sextiva Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 the problem is that i need to find a bypass for the amp to use another amp to power my door speakers is there such thing or just wire them through head unit?
Skullz Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Rewire the speakers from the H/U to them with new wire and leave the factory stuff alone, factory wiring can be a bigger problem than it generally solves when installing new aftermarket gear. Personally i would get a nice amp to power them with and deaden the doors to stop any kind of rattle, along with sealing the doors to keep the back wave from the front wave, well treated doors will sound amazing compared to untreated doors. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
