BassDoctor
3.14*r^2 where r is the radius. Is this a general formula? I thought that a subwoofer could have a slightly different cone area depending on a few factors. hdorre
Thats the basic area of a circle formula. How exact do you need it to be? BassDoctor
Thats the basic area of a circle formula. How exact do you need it to be? You are all far more experienced than I am. If you say that this formula is close enough to being correct that it does not matter, I will happily use it. Thanks for the replies guys. hdorre
It wont be exact, but it'll be VERY close. RooTxBeeR
It's the formula everyone uses to find cone area. Now it may be slightly off because a 12" subwoofer's cone is not exactly 12" inches in diameter. If you can find specs on the sub for the actualy cones diameter, than you'll be set. Also if you do find that and don't know what a radius is, it is half of the diameter. ie. If you have a diamter of 11, your r=5.5 Quote On 11/20/2012 at 8:54 PM, AMI CUSTOMS said: Turned mine up today at a light, guy next to me his steering wheel started moving and he looked over at me like I was a magician lol.
