I'm willing to bet that amp isn't going to like .5 Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. Yeah i will be uploading a video soon. I really wanna get a video of how much flex is going on... No rattling at all just flex. WIRED DOWN TO 0.5 OHM, NO PROBLEMS SO FAR. THEN I CAN GET ANOTHER BATTERY, AMP AND THOSE 8" MID BASS DRIVERS IN THE DOORS.I'm willing to bet that amp isn't going to like .5Well im being pretty cautious so far, When it was wired @ 2 ohm load, 48 on Hu was full tilt tuned everything with DD1 i could play it all day and it stayed ice cold. Since i rewired it to 0.5 ohm i got it turned up to volume 40 and its hitting harder then it was at 48 ( wired at 2 ohm ) I let it play for about 5-10 minutes at 40 with trunk open feeling wires and amp with my hand, it got slightly warm but definitely not hot at all. I think i will slowly push it more each day until i get to full tilt carefully watching the amp playing different frequencies and songs for decent periods of time. We will see how it does, i will keep everyone updated. I bet the amp will take .5. Cant wait to see that amp rack finishedJust from playing around with it so far i think it should be ok as long as i don't beat on it to hard. For burp i think its gonna be fine, if anything the amp may not like fully tilt for long periods of time but like i said we will see.... The amp rack is waiting on plexiglass and a few brackets to mount the battery from moving around and i need to refinish the paint from all the smudges and shit from it being tossed around while working on it but yeah im hoping it looks good when its all said and done. pioneerforlife
Sweet. ya I have been running my XXX at .5 with just ok electrical and it has been taking it. it gets hot after a while but it has internal fans and I am adding external fans so I am not to worried. I am clipping to sometimes which doesn't help. once I get my electrical and everything up to par it should stay a bit cooler. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
