Seymore
I'm really thinking about putting HIDs into my 01 civic, and I'm electronically gifted enough to know how to install them myself, but everytime I try to look for a pair, I either see expensive ones or cheap Chinese garbage. Oh, and I'm a little strapped for cash at the moment, so does anyone have a good brand of HIDs to advise me with? 2001 Civic LX SedanPioneer DEH-7500HD Big 3 in 1/0 Knu CCARockford P500-4RF Punch P165-S in doorsRF Punch P165 in rear deckFront doors deadened with DamplifierNextSQ's new HDS208 8" in a T-line whenever it FINALLY COMES OUT I CAN FINALLY AFFORD IT Bend over and I'll show ya. how is it 2 days work? half a day at most, i may be an idiot, but im not an idiot. bluethunder
I have had nothing but great experiences from ddm tuning. On a side note I would not install hid's into your vehicle without having a proper projector. The light output will be horrible and will blind oncoming drivers creating an unsafe driving condition. bluethunder
For the projectors I have actually had great luck with the mini h1 projectors off of ebay. They come with everything needed, just make sure you get the ones with the shroud. Installation is pretty straight forward as they can be mounted to the stock reflector. I would suggest picking up a relay harness with built in hi/lo for easier wiring. All in all you could do the retrofit with hid kit for around 120-130. Also the zentec hid kits are okay at best I had them first when I did my retro on my 99 civic, but the output looked like a 10k bulb and dull with the 5k bulbs I had installed. upgraded to 55w ddm ballasts and easily doubled my visibiltiy. hdorre
I don't recommend any HIDs to you. Why? You didn't mention using any projectors. We don't need any more assholes on the road blinding everyone.
