so i did some quick measuring.. not sure if this will pose a problem or not not

So my current box is 14" tall and so is the one you designed.. As you can see in that picture there is a frame brace about 2-3" above the top of the box. also there isnt much room to the side of the box because of that diagonal brace. would these create any issues for sound to travel..?

Your concern in principle is legitimate, one has to prioritize though, first the box has to fit in it's way inside, that's the cardboard dummy box for, next is that you meet your minimum port clearance as stated above, and if you are firing back of course you want a return path to the cabin, the more you have the better, seeing that you have some space on the sides and the top I wouldn't be so concerned but it can sometimes be improved, when not possible you fire forward sealing off, with limited space to work with you want to think carefully, do the cardboard box and keep changing it's size to what you consider optimal, and I will gladly mod the above if necessary.
