Hodges
I'm about to buy most of the stuff for my System but I was wondering, how do I know if I need to upgrade my alt or add battery's? Is there a certain amount of wattage that is too much for you stock electrical parts? I think I am fine for now, Going to have about 2500 true watts rms, but in the next 6 months I want to double that up to 5000 true rms watts...What should I expect to have to do to my electrical system when I do this if anything? BTW this is in a 99 Caravan...going to start off with 2 L7 15"s then go to 4 L7 15"s...Still dont know what amps im getting but they will do 2500 rms or I wont buy them.. WickedToys1
if you start smelling coils when you are knocking it, you most likely have a voltage drop. Hodges
Hmm, I noticed today when I was bangin that my HU was dimming so bad I could hardly see any illumination coming from it at all.. Wonder if I should run a bigger power wire to it or something.
Aaron813
I would say anything over 1500 watts you should atleast try to get a deep cycle battery up front and the big three Edited March 16, 2008 by Aaron813

SPLaddict
honestly i dont belive caps are useless all i have is a cheap cap (off brand company called scoshe) it didnt help as far as my charging problems but i did note a differance in the precision of my bass. before 2 bass notes that where too close together would sound like one. now you can clearly hear two
