adamjwatkins Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 My head unit is able to go full volume without distortion, but when I go to set the amplifier as soon as I hook up the DD 1+ it's distortion light is on with the amp games at minimum, gains at minimum. The head unit is Eclipse 8053. I think the 8 volt output is to much for the amplifier.
Noel989 Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 Just turn it a few clicks down on the hu and your set Which in this case your gain will be all the way down Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
ROLEXrifleman Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 You answered your own question. Your HU is capable of producing output voltage higher than your amp can handle Rolex you sicken me. Just let me finish my pie ~ Juice
ROLEXrifleman Posted April 10, 2014 Report Posted April 10, 2014 If you want to take it to the next level find out what the max input voltage is on your amp, disconnect the RCA's from the amp, play a test track and measure the output voltage with a VOM. When you reach the voltage out of the RCA that matches the amps max input voltage take note of the HU volume level as that's the highest volume you can go b4 you overdrive the amp Rolex you sicken me.
