Foamyy Thee Squirrell Posted April 17, 2014 Report Share Posted April 17, 2014 Ok well you guys do seem to know a lot more than I wanted to admit earlier so I was wondering if I can get some advice for the build I am planning to do between the next 3ish months. . I know the vehicle I am going to be using it kinda up in the air at the second because I need to sell my SUV to get money for the project vehicle and the equipment. It will either be a 2 door car or a 4x4 90s Jeep Cherokee. I am hoping to have 2 XLs by the end of June so what is everything I would need? Wire,amp,alt,ect... My budget for May will be around $1500 and my budget for June will be $1000. So in total I will have $2500 to spend. I am determined to stick with DC for the subs, open on the amp although I'd prefer DC. I am still trying to learn everything, which is biting me in the ass being a complete and total noob... Then if I absolutely want more then that I can add it in October. Probably end up buying a DC 3.5k used for like $600. Granted idk if this is a good or bad idea. Those 2 things put me at $1300 and the alt is $400 so that's $1700. The 1/0 wiring kit is $100, so $1800. The batteries are $200 a piece so that's putting me at $2200. john253a Posted April 17, 2014 Report Share Posted April 17, 2014 why not save 200 and go the lvl4 and not xl or look at a different brands like 2x hdc415 on a bc5500 for $1880 2/0 sky ofc and 2/0 big 3 $290, total $2170 run it at 4ohm, until you get h/o alt and some batteries in the rear m/man 240 is 400 m/man 320 is 500 xs d3100 is 370 you'll need at least 2x 3100 for that amp to run full tilt, but if your smart, you could run 1ohm with no rear batt and 320a alt, and just set the gain low so you only like 2k of power out of that amp till you get the batts Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
