Difference in DC Power Alternators.

Recommended Posts

320 is a fave of mine. Thats by many makers.

I like a high output, and a strong idle. Of course, id love 300 at idle and 400 at rev, but, that isnt how it happens.

If your crank pulley makes your turn on low, then do a smaller pulley,.. there are things you can do, to see what you want.

Like Chris (snowdrifter) above said....... Belt wrap, turn on, belt ribs, contact, pulley size (on the alt, and the crank) and many other factors come into play.

There is not PERFECT solution/gear.

I do read "just put the biggest you can fit" over and over, and then, read "I just put a HO alt in, and i get a battery light when im sitting at a light?" OVER and over...

I know of a alt that does over 400 amps right now...........(well over in fact)

And, i wouldnt put it in MY build, if it was given to me.

Seems to be the best upgrade for my vehicle but it's also out of stock and only 30 bucks more than my current alternator.
